“I am a 28 year old Sergeant in the United States Army. I was born at Gorgas Army Medical Center in Panama where my father was stationed as a US Army Special Forces Soldier.  I grew up in the small town of Hope Mills, North Carolina, a great place I was lucky to grow up in. I built communications towers after I graduated from high school but joined the Army after several of my friends went to Iraq. The war was getting rough and I wanted to do my part for my country and continue the family business of soldiering. I have been on active duty for nearly five years. I enlisted in February 2005 as a combat medic and deployed to Iraq in July of 2006 with 2nd Battalion, 3rd Infantry Regiment, 3rd Stryker Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division. I served all over the country for 15 months during the surge.  I was decorated with the Army Commendation Medal for Valor during my service there. I re-enlisted for an additional four years while deployed changing jobs to become a Broadcast Journalist.  I’m now in the proud ranks of 1st Brigade, 1st Armored Division, also known as the Ready First Combat Team. This job allows me to help tell the story of the soldiers who I serve with and hopefully let the American People and the people of the world know the faces of those who are sacrificing so much while asking nothing in return but not to be used in vain.  I’m currently in the process of packing up for my second tour in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.  I started doing voice work in high school during football games and DJing on a Shoutcast station.  Public Speaking is something I’ve always enjoyed and I look forward to helping out this project.”
