The U.S.S. San Diego was the first of many of her class, upon completion she toured many Union systems as a show of strength. She is currently assigned to Imperial Carrier Group A operating in the Polaris Sector.
The San Diego class was created as a response to growing concerns for protection of the rapidly expanding Union frontier. Feared by the Dakota and generally heralded as the perfect ship by union ship captains far and wide, the San Diego class are a valued asset to the Union fleet.
