Ross joined the Army when he was 18 primarily to fund his university degree, upon enlisting however he found himself a family he’d never had and decided to make a life of it in the service.
Ross fought at the Battle of Hoyle as a heavy machine gunner in 3rd Platoon, Baker Company under 2nd Lieutenant Miles Ender. Ross was promoted to Corporal shortly after.
In 2299 Ross’ Platoon was assigned to the Invasion of Toyr’diablo, after the lack-lustre combat on Hoyle, Ross was ready and eager to fight.
Ross’ dropship carrying him and others from his unit crash landed on the surface of the planet after clipping the side of a mountain. Ross and the survivors set off to find their designated LZ (Landing Zone) and link up with the rest of their division.
En route Ross and the survivors were attacked by enemies unknown in the surrounding forests, which saw two more of his fellow soldiers killed.
Ross and his fellow survivors discovered the LZ deserted and littered with bodies of slain comrades, there was little time to take this in as they were quickly set upon by passing Dakota soldiers. Ross fought valiantly alongside Private Matthew ‘Red’ Groenan, but was however killed in action from enemy fire.
Known mostly for his bad sense of humour, Ross was still mildly respected amongst the troops as he had proven himself very reliable in combat, however most people tended to lose their patience with him.
