gkellerNAME: Gerrard Keller

BIRTHDATE: September 22nd 2280

BIRTHPLACE: Honolulu, Pacific Island Region, Earth

AFFILIATION: Terran Imperial Union Army

RANK: Private Recruit

FATE: Killed in Action, 8th October 2299 (Ground Battle of Toyr’diablo)

Gerrard was born in Honolulu, Hawaii in the Pacific Island Region, he grew up there with his older sister Sarah. The two were close with Gerrard only being one year younger, when Gerrard was thirteen, Sarah left for high-school in Wellington, New Zealand.

Throughout high school Gerrard never really knew his goal in life other than the need to get by, he enjoyed surfing like the rest of his friends and became a whizz on the computer, but never really found any achievement in it.

Gerrard began to take an interest in astronomy like his older sister; he would often watch the news reports coming out about other colonies in other parts of the galaxy and was amazed how different life looked there.

When Sarah was accepted into the Union Naval Academy on Venus, Gerrard decided he too would enter the service and see what was out there. Gerrard however was more interested in an upfront experience so rather than join the Navy like his sister and be stuck on a giant ship, Gerrard decided he would enlist in the Army and actually explore the galaxy on his feet.

Gerrard enlisted and was sent to Fort Charger, Maine for basic training; there he met fellow recruits ‘Rick’ Devers and Robert ‘Bob’ Anderson.  The training unit the three were apart of had its time cut short when urgent troops were needed for the push into the Reinager system.  Gerrard, Devers and Anderson were put under the care of Private First Class William ‘Bill’ Paskiwycz and assigned to the U.S.S. Hornblower (SDD-1073).

Before leaving Fort Charger Gerrard received a distress video message from his sister aboard the U.S.S. Asimov (SDX-6152). This led Gerrard to hack into the Union Mainframe to dig up data on his sister’s ship, and discovered her ship was assigned to ‘Project Hades’. Gerrard was unable to gather any information on Project Hades other than it was a Union operation being conducted in the Reinager System.

After being transferred to Terra Prime in Earth Orbit, Gerrard’s unit was given a briefing by Brigadier-General Rummel – Deputy Commander of the 5th Infantry Division and Captain Wexler – of the Black Operations Service unit attached to the 5th Infantry. Gerrard spoke up about his knowledge of Project Hades, this was his undoing.

Wexler kept his eye on Gerrard from that moment on.

Upon arriving in the Reinager System, Gerrard’s unit crashed landed their UC-78 Raven on the surface of Toyr’diablo, killing a significant amount of the troops aboard the carryall, Gerrard was one of the survivors and after he and Devers rescued the co-pilot Senior Warrant Officer Nichols, they and the rest of the survivors led by 2nd Lietuenant Ender set out to find their LZ.

On the way they were attacked by unknown hostiles which killed two more of the group. But after reaching the LZ they found a huge number of massacred troops and the place deserted. They were then set upon by a retreating Dakota unit, which took the life of Corporal Ross, however the Dakota were all killed.

They then set off for No’ocar’ytic – the main Dakota colony on the surface where the AA Control Centre was located and after arriving Gerrard assisted in clearing the basement of one building.

However, Wexler was already there and spotted Gerrard, seeing his opportunity to silence Gerrard, Wexler murdered him with a sniper rifle from a nearby building. Gerrard’s last wish was for Devers to find Sarah and protect her.

Gerrard could come off a little brash as he was an upfront man who spoke his mind; however he had a strong sense of loyalty to his family and friends and would do anything for them if needed.
