Saturday Weekly Roundup: 14th May 2011

First and foremost, thanks so much to the donators, because of you guys Frontier will see the light of day at the 2011 Gencon Film Festival in Indiana in August.

Tonight I shall be compiling and burning 2 DVD copies of Chapters 1-5 (the redressed versions) and tomorrow morning posting them off for Seattle, so very exciting stuff!

Progress on Chapter 14 is very good, Scene 30a is complete and now Scene 31 begins, this is the last scene of Chapter 14 and is possibly the darkest scene in the entire movie!

The redressed Chapter 5 is finished and being uploaded to Koldcast as I type this, once again the music Marc has done here is just amazing! Keep you eyes out for it’s release on Monday 16th May.

I have released the next remade Dakota ship fly-by onto youtube today

Well that’s it till next week!

Saturday Weekly Roundup: 7th May 2011

Hi Everyone, two things this week, firstly I’ve been asked if I’d like Frontier to be included in the 2011 GenCon Indy Film Festival, which would be magnificent, it would be some amazing exposure for the series, and also possibly create future opportunities for the show to grow, so I’m gonna do something I don’t usually do….

I’m trying to now raise $40.00 US before the 31st May to cover the entry fee, as you all know I’m a broke-assed student now and don’t have the funds so I’m looking to any fans or followers that wanna help me out here? Just click up in the top corner on donate! Pretty please? :)

Anyone who donates will get either a: ship, character or place named after them in the series, and also will get featured in the ‘special thanks to’ in the credits (at the end of the film). Simply include your email on your donators info and I’ll be in touch.

Now the second thing, in Chapter 14 we will see a glimpse of the remaining Dakota fleet over Toyr’diablo, now as you know I’m upgrading everything onto Maya, so that means I’ve had to remake the entire Dakota fleet and give them a sprucing up too! Here’s some pics of the Frigate! I’ll be showing off the other ships week to week. Also there’s a fly-by video on youtube of the ship, see it here!

Chapter 14 progresses slowly, as I said, lots of work to do, I’m not sure on a time-frame for release, so sit tight and we’ll cross that bridge soon!

As for the redressed Chapter 5, that will be coming out on Koldcast on May 16th! So keep your eyes peeled!

So that’s it for this week, and remember to include your email on donations so I can get in touch with you!

Thanks guys

Saturday Weekly Roundup: 30th April 2011

This week has been really productive, we’re into Scene 30a now which is set on the bridge of the Hammer, so I have done a complete remake of the bridge model in Maya and here’s hoping it looks a little nicer. The next big step is a sprucing up of the Dakota ships which until now have felt a little basic and blocky.

A little news on the release of the redressed Chapter 5 – at the moment it’s being prepared and Marc is working his music magic yet again, the release date for Koldcast TV is 16th May – so stay tuned for that.

I’ve included some pictures of the remade bridge of the Hammer, hope you like it.

Escaping in the Elevator

Happy Easter everyone, I hope you all did well with your Easter Eggs and got heaps of chocolate? Well chapter 30 is complete, all to do now is add sound effects and then move onto Chapter 30a. But I must say Chapter 30 is looking really good, lots of nice smooth action sequences that seem to be turning out really nice with the 2D/3D combination, as always here’s a screenshot.

Keep your eyes peeled for the redressed Chapter 4 which will be showing up on Koldcast TV on Monday, 25th April and following onto youtube a few days later. The Chapter contains so beautiful music by Marc Teichert and some wonderful voice acting by Steven Richards, so keep an eye out.

Well that’s it for now, stay tuned for more next week!

Saturday Weekly Roundup: 16th April 2011

Sears and Caine open fire!

Firstly, so sorry about the delay in the roundup this week gone, it has been hectic as hectic gets, scene 30 is looking spectacular! I’m really pleased with the animation and look of the whole thing, when you see it finally I hope you agree, for the meantime here’s a screenshot!

Now for weeks I’ve been promising you all some shots of the F-214 Gryphon Interceptor, well here they are, I hope you like her, I think she’ll be a fine addition to the Union Fleet Air Arm. She carries four missile hardpoints, two main cannons and is faster than the Firehawk.

So this is the last week of my holidays my goal is to get Scene 30 complete, leaving Scene 30a (a new one) and Scene 31 remaining for Chapter 14.

In the meantime watch out for the redressed version of Chapter 4 coming out on Koldcast TV and followed shortly after on youtube coming out on April 25th. Please note our very talented musical score by Marc Teichert who is working wonders! And also Steve Richards who will be voicing our evil protagonist…Captain Wexler.

Stay tuned for more next week.

"What the hell's going on with you?!" - Caine to Sarah Keller

Well I’m on holiday for two weeks! You know what that means? Complete time devoted to Frontier – hip-hip-hooray!

A few mentions this week, a big thank you and welcome to Irvin Jackson better known as DarklordDC on deviant art, who is going to be providing some nose art for Union and Dakota craft alike, his stuff is very epic and it’s very cool to have him onboard helping us out. See his deviant art page right here!

Another welcome is to Ryan Royle from Tanadrine Studios who’s gonna be lending his voice to the series, he’s done some very cool work which you can see on his youtube channel here! He also does his own sci-fi webseries called Delura which looks very cool, again you can spot that on his youtube channel.

You may have seen Chapter 3 being released on Koldcast and Youtube this last week, looking a little more dressed up and a little nicer, Marc Teichert did a spectacular job on the score there, his work to me is amazing and I hope you all agree it’s very suited for Frontier, be sure to check out his website MDT Music right here! Marc is now working on the score for the redressed (and I call them redressed as they aren’t remakes, but still look a tad nicer) Chapter 4 which will be getting released on Koldcast on April 25th, following a few days later on Youtube.

And now Chapter 14! Work has proceeded into Scene 30 which features more storyline on what the hell is going on with Sarah Keller, and also the state of the U.S.S. Hammer? Just how bad is this infection?

Now I know I promised you all pictures of the F-214 Gryphon, and I’m gonna be a stinker as I haven’t had any spare time to texture the damn thing, but rest assured this week I shall be having oodles (yes I said oodles) of free time to catch up on all these terrible promises of mine – so stay tuned! Next roundup should be showing off quite a lot of new stuff!

Saturday Weekly Roundup: 2nd April 2011

Another very busy week, a lot of schoolwork so not as much time as I would have liked to have spent on Chapter 14 but I would go as far as saying that one-third of Chapter 14 is complete, I’ve also been getting Chapter 3 ready for its release on Koldcast, and that’ll be releasing on Monday 4th April, the youtube release will follow a few days later.

Some eye candy for you, as promised I have images of the UC-81 Raven II for you to see, this is a major upgrade from the UC-78 Raven. We will be seeing this model in Frontier as a prototype that is aboard the U.S.S. Hammer.

And very soon I will be showing you images for the F-214 Gryphon, and also a Dakota Walker.

So stay tuned for more later,

Lew
