It is very possible that since they are so close to each other at the border that most of the tech is the same. However it may also be true that the tech the nations have isn't the same and these are two totally diffrent weapons since they were in a cold war for what a good 30 to 40 years am I correct? Or is it even possible that the union may have the larger fleet but are out dated when it comes to tech. Or it could even be that they have the smaller fleet but even better tech that the Dakota might have. When the cold war started the russkies launched Spuntnik. Now the U.S. once again went into fear as usual "Oh no!" they cried. they were years behind in tech with the USSR when it came to space tech. But in the late 50's and during the 60s the USA got it's act together and put a man on the moon. However the real question is this when it comes to warfare? Are you willing to put faith in your tech when it comes time for battle? Tech can only do so much with it. It's the men in combat who make the real diffrence.
