Craft Profile: UC-76 Condor

The Condor design was approved by the Imperial Union military as being used for resupply and troop transport.

Conroy Aerotech would soon develop a NextGen design entirely for the Army: the UC-78 Raven – soon followed by the UC-79 Albatross.

The Condor features no armament making it a very vulnerable target and requires constant fighter escort in frontline areas. It features a rear ramp system for exit and entry.

Unlike the Raven it does not feature the ability to lock on and cut into the hull of a ship for troop insertion.

Part 10 is here

Part 10 is finished and out on youtube, there are some upcoming action scenes which I had planned on putting in this part however, looks like I ran out of time – so the hope is that I’ll fit them into Part 11.

See Part 10 here.

Character of the Week: Forrest Hogan

Hogan served as an Ensign aboard the U.S.S. Hammer (SDD-1114) staring in 2294 and was progressively promoted through to a full Lieutenant.

Hogan was initially assigned as ship’s Mess Officer – a task he did not enjoy at all and was not his reason for heading to space, finally after a promotion he was able to wrangle a position as Hangar Bay Officer with the hopes of someday becoming an officer on the bridge or in one of the gunnery sections.

Hogan is an average officer – pressure is something that can get to him, however he is more than competent of handling himself in dire situations.

Saturday Weekly Roundup: 8th May 2010

This week has seen Part 10 rise in progress to 67% complete, which means we’re over two-thirds done! One sad fact of this is I don’t think I’m going to fit as much into this part as I had hoped, with Scene 23b dragging on quite a bit – however each part is crucial so I can’t really cut anything out.

What I have put up on youtube just tonight is a little something I put together today, it’s a showreel really, showcasing my animations from across all the projects I have up on youtube.  It’s preceded by a short message from me saying thanks.

Not much gaming this week, but I suspect myself and my daughter will be attacking our saved game we have for Super Mario Wii tomorrow – wish us luck!

Well tonight shall be spent working on Part 10 so back to it!!

Stay tuned for more later.

Craft Profile: B-144 Boxcar

The Box Car is primarily used in fleet actions – mostly against enemy cap ships sighted by smaller craft operating off a carrier. The Box Car carries five men, apart from the two pilots all other crew have multi-roles, all are gunners along with their other roles (Navigator/Bombardier/Flight Engineer).

The major complaint about the Box Car is its lack of armament, which means it constantly requires fighter escort to ensure a successful mission, however once at its target it is more than capable of taking down multiple enemy cap ships with a full bomb and torpedo load-out.

Character of the Week: Malcolm Ogilvy

Ogilvy served under Lieutenant Ender for many of his years in the Army, he fought with him and Stewart during the Operation Hammer Fall: the invasion of Hoyle and again during Operation Red Dirt: the Invasion of Toyr’diablo.

Ogilvy’s carryall clipped the side of a mountain and crash landed, unfortunately Ogilvy did not survive the crash.

Ogilvy was in command of 2nd Squad, 3rd Platoon – the squad that took on Devers, Keller and Anderson.

Ogilvy was considered by all a very no-nonsense and competent NCO and leader.

Saturday Weekly Roundup: 1st May 2010

Again another very very productive week, Part 10 is off to a flying start already at 44% completed.

I’m am imagining that Part 10 will definitely be out this month , though I hate promising things as it seems whenever I do something goes wrong and causes massive delays.

In Part 10 we’re going to look further into Caine following his mission given to him in Part 3; and the problems facing both the survivors of the Hammer and of Devers’ unit.

In gaming news – last night one of my best friends from high-school and I had a epic nerd weekend – I packed up my comp and took it over to his place and we did LAN Grand Theft Auto 4 – what a massive amount of fun!

The co-op ability to cause mass carnage and monumental police chases made for an awesome gaming experience.

In stuff from the web – I have four words which have absolutely made my week: Angry – Video – Game – Nerd. Seriously this guy James Rolfe is hilarious – I suppose it’s funnier for me as I played these crappy NES games when I was growing up and had many a temper tantrum at them – so it’s great to see someone who’s funny – taking the piss out of all of them and their bad gaming designs.

So that’s it for now, work on Part 10 continues at a…shall we say: intense/until I burn out pace.

Stay tuned for more later.
