Craft Profile: UC-72 Finch
This small carryall shuttle-craft is primarily used for officers and small troop detachment transport.
The Finch is widely used by the Special Forces departments of the three main services (Army, Air Force and Navy) and also the Black Operations Service.
The Finch is able to travel in on-world and off-world environments making it perfect for ferrying officers to and from their ships.
The Finch features two VTOL (Vertical Take Off and Landing) engines on its sides, making it able to land in the tightest spots and get out again as quickly as possible.
As the Finch is not designed for standard frontline combat, it has minimum armour and no armament.
Character of the Week: Claire Ayelburn
Ayelburn lied about her age using an online fake ID – in truth the recruiters knew but overlooked it as the Navy was always desperate for personnel.
Ayelburn was assigned to the U.S.S. Hammer (SDD-1114) in 2291 and has served on her since, she is currently a Hangar Bay Control Operator.
Saturday Weekly Roundup: 24th April 2010
A very successful week apart from the fact I seem to have developed some form of man-cold which sucks ass. BUT Part 9 was released which I was a bit an on the fence decision really as there is a little scene I was going to add onto it, but as the part had reached 8 minutes I figured I’d leave this next scene for Part 10.
A few folks were surprised by what happened when the EEV got opened. I promise everyone that this will fit into the main storyline very well and also will be fully explained as the story progresses – so fear not! This is not some random ‘it was cool at the time’ thing I’m doing, it’s an element that has been built into the Frontier storyline for ages – we’re talking about when I first wrote the first draft in 1997.
Another thing which was slightly unfortunate was the lack of space combat which is a main part of the Frontier storyline as well, however as I’ve said on almost every forum, Part 9 may not have space combat BUT what we see in this part is CRUCIAL to the storyline.
So overall I hope you enjoy it.
In gaming news – my daughter and I successfully completed Resident Evil – The Darkside Chronicles yesterday! So well done to us! Pretty awesome story and also shows a few little clues as to how our old friend Krauser got to be the way he is when we see him in Resident Evil 4.
The only downside (and this is tiny as tiny gets) was the freaken singing on the end credits! C’mon!! Resident Evil soundtracks are usually epic beyond definition, but when you bring some 20-something chick into the mix and get her to start singing some lullaby BS on the credits – well…it just kills it for me.
In internet news I have none at all, the reason why is because I’ve been freaken capped! Used too much data I’m afraid and now I’ve been throttled to lame-ass dial up speed and to be honest I seriously wonder how we all coped back in the nineties with this horrid speed where you are literally pulling your hair out waiting for a jpeg to come up alongside some text – uuuurggh!!!!
Even trying to look up a 30 sec vid on youtube requires you to step away and make a coffee – I’m just feeling very 1995 right now.
One thing I did make was an appreciation group on Facebook – dedicated to a flat where a numerous amount of my mates used to live – the place was horrible, dingy and dirty- but it sort’ve functioned as a good place to have parties from 2004-2007, after they move out the house went on the slate to be demolished as it was too far-gone to be re-rented.
Stay tuned for more later!

Part 9 is here
Well I was going to wait and add in Scene 23a which is actually not that long but figured I’ll stick that on the front of Part 10 – this part unfortunately doesn’t have much in the way of combat, but I promise that there is still more space combat to come, this part does however have elements which are crucial to the story. So I hope you like it.
See it here.
Craft Profile: Dakota Space Superiority Fighter
The Type-I is the main Dakota fighter among others that has been encountered by Union forces since first contact on 9th March 2263.
After hostilities officially broke out on October 12th 2296, numerous Type-I’s have been captured, all current information on them has been learned through test flights of captured spacecraft.
The Type-I was more than a match for the F-205 Thunderbird during First Contact and through minor border skirmishes, however once the F-212 Firehawk succeeded the Thunderbird in 2290, it was very clear the Type-I’s were no longer the dominant fighter along the border.
Character of the Week: Martin Ross
Ross fought at the Battle of Hoyle as a heavy machine gunner in 3rd Platoon, Baker Company under 2nd Lieutenant Miles Ender. Ross was promoted to Corporal shortly after.
In 2299 Ross’ Platoon was assigned to the Invasion of Toyr’diablo, after the lack-lustre combat on Hoyle, Ross was ready and eager to fight.
Known mostly for his bad sense of humour, Ross is still mildly respected amongst the troops as he has proven himself very reliable in combat, however most people tend to lose their patience with him.
Saturday Weekly Roundup: 17th April 2010
This week unfortunately I’ve had very little time to actually work on Part 9 which is annoying, however today I have got Part 9 to 75% Complete so we’re getting there, I’m also planning on putting a bit of effort in tomorrow day so it may get it shifted along a bit more then.
Proud to report the computer and drives have been running fine, no more issues.
You may have noticed that the ‘Ship of the Week’ section has changed now to ‘Craft Profile’ this is for good reason that I’ve simply run out of ships to profile at the moment, so I thought it was time to show the specs of some of the craft that we have been seeing.
In gaming news, myself and my step-daughter have been hard at work defeating the many zombie-hordes that are provided in the Nintendo Wii edition of Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles, both of us equipped with Wii Zappers it’s been a pretty fun experience. I’m personally a fanatic of the Resident Evil series (not the movies) so to be able to see Resident Evil 2 and Code Veronica redone with superior graphics and from a more action-packed first person perspective has been pretty freaken awesome. Currently we’re both up to the point where you just completed the Code Veronica section of the game.
Well back to work for me.
Stay tuned for more later.
