Saturday Weekly Roundup: 27th March 2010

Part 9 is at 14%, so things are looking good – there will be a lot more lines in this part and we’ll see a bit more character development also.  In Part 9 I hope that we’ll see the story start taking some real shape.

It was really nice to see another article on wcnews.com regarding Part 9 – I just hope I can keep this part on course for its scheduled release mid to late April.

After getting all the dialogue back from the various voice actors I’m real pleased with the quality of work, these guys are awesome! Hopefully I’ll be able to get some more voice actor profiles up on site soon.

In other news Starlancer has me stumped, some real hard missions in that game! I think I’m only at mission 9 – shocking…

Until next time,

Lew

  • Sean:

Lew you mentioned on one of your weekend roundups that the commander James Sears will have a huge part in the story.

Will Ender or Stewart have a big role as well? They remind me of two characters from StarFist

First Lieutenant Charlie Bass and Staff Sergeant Hawkoya of 3rd Platoon, Company Lima, 34th Fleet Initial Strike Team or F.I.S.T. for short.

    Hope the pilot is ok.

  • Hey Sean, I would list the main characters like this:
    MAINS
    Caine
    Sarah
    Devers
    Webster
    Sears
    Stewart
    Ender
    Anderson
    Gerrard
    Paskiwycz

When I finish making Frontier I plan on reading starfist :) As well as reading Battlestar Libra

  • Sean:

    BattleStar Libra is so awesome!

StarFist is similar to band of brothers but in the future and mainly focues on one small platoon and all their crazy missions. And even better sometimes they go to war with these lizard like people that are just really nasty and have weapons that are superior to humans (or what the Skink army call the human marines “Earthman Marines” but they are actually culture wise backward like indians but have superior tech in the weapons department.

The ships they have can use FTL inside a atmosphere so one dropship can take off from a Skink cruiser and land, then disembark the troops and then literally warp out back to space without leaving the atomsphere. They are very very mysterious and have shown up in only 4 of the 14 books but they are brought up in almost every book after their first apperance in the series. And each time they are in a new book they have a new weapon each and every time.

StarFist is a ground marine combat series, there are no dogfights like you have in space however there are aireal combat in planets. However I would also like to recommend the series “Lost Fleet” Kind of Halo meets Stargate but with aliens that are not seen as of yet. Wikipedia the Lost Fleet and you’ll get the summery or, here

  • Sean:

Forgot to mention this series, it’s actually three trilogies that are connected and follow the main character’s decendents. It is a great series
