Part 7 Update – Working Scene 18

Well the launch is imminent and the pace is picking up. Lots of modeling and lots of talking so lots of mouth syncing which in short is a real bitch – but highly necessary. The good news is we’re about 4:30 into the part which means it’s roughly 40-50% complete. Powering onward so stay tuned. :)

Character of the Week: Andrew Howell

Howell was assigned into the Air Force Special Operations Regiment (AFSOR) in 2288.

In 2297 he recruited a burned-out Major Caine from the U.S.S. Patton (SCA-703), he oversaw Caine’s training in special operations and his missions there. Howell formed a friendship with Caine during his time as his commanding officer, it was due to this that Howell approved Caine’s transfer into the strategic reserve.

In 2299, AFSOR was assigned a top secret task of retrieving any possible survivors from the U.S.S. Asimov (SDX-6152), Howell immediately had Caine recalled to take over the assignment.

Howell’s office resides at the Air Force Central Headquarters in Washington, American Eastern Region on Earth.

A Nice Comparison

You may remember in early 2008 I posted a vid up on youtube showing a scene excerpt from Frontier, this was a mock scene I made from the script showing the landing forces getting ready and launching.

Well Part 7 contains this very scene so it’s all been redone. I thought I would share with you a comparison shot from that 2D vid in 2008 and this redone vid in 2009. So very very better hehe.

Character of the Week: William Peters

Peters quickly rose in rank to eventually become second in command of the U.S.S. Patton (SCA-703) – a position he grew to hate at first, due to his commanding officer Captain Krauer.

Peters often referred to himself as Krauer’s verbal and emotional punching-bag, he would have requested a transfer were it not for Captain Ellis Webster.

After Major John Caine transferred off the Patton in 2297, Webster assumed the role of acting Air Wing Commander. Webster and Peters became friends and it was Webster who encouraged him to stay on as the ship’s X.O.

Peters is a logical and patient man, his patience is what helps him keep his cool while being under Krauer’s thumb, when he first took his assignment he was the third X.O. on the Patton in under a year.

Part 7 Underway!

So hope you all enjoyed Part 6…as I said on the last update…and now…Part 7, well that’s exactly what I’ve been doing. As you know they’ve arrived at Toyr’Diablo so a whole heap of bad stuff is about to go down and of course modeling and animating that is gonna be a nice fun challenge.

So stay tuned, many many more updates to come this is going to be a very interesting Part.

Character of the Week: Robert ‘Bob’ Anderson

anderson‘Bob’ was assigned into the 5th Infantry Division and headed to their training facilities at Fort Charger, Maine, where he attended basic training, it was there he met fellow recruits ‘Rick’ Devers and Gerrard Keller. The three of them being at the top of their class were graduated early, due to the upcoming mission into the Reinager System and put under the care of ‘Bill’ Paskiwycz.

Anderson and his fellow recruits were assigned to the U.S.S. Hornblower (SDD-1073) for the journey to rendezvous with the Reinager Invasion Group in the Granedee System.

Anderson has a very sarcastic wit and often makes fun of what should be very serious situations. Some say it his way of dealing with problems he would otherwise find too complicated.
