Character of the Week: William ‘Bill’ ‘Paski’ Paskiwycz
After basic training, his trial be fire took place in the invasion of Hoyle in 2297, Paskiwyczs squad was ambushed and Paskiwycz found himself one of the only non-wounded members. He rescued several other wounded members of his squad while under heavy machine gun fire and got them to safety, he then went a step further and took out three Dakota machine gun nests with grenades.
After Hoyle, Paskiwycz was promoted and given the task of assisting in the training of new recruits in his unit.
In 2299, Paskiwycz was assigned three new recruits from Fort Charger, Maine – Privates Devers, Keller and Anderson.
Paskiwycz quickly learnt his unit would be the spearhead of the invasion into the Reinager System, he would have to watch out for his three newbies.
Paskiwycz is a brave soldier, a natural leader in combat, he is respected by his comrades and if he doesn’t agree with someone he makes it known.
Everyone referrs to Paskiwycz by his forced nickname ‘Paski’ which Paskiwycz despises, he will frequently correct people addressing him.
Part 6 Update – Scene 16 Begins
Another Part 6 update, and works been pretty solid on the modeling side of things. All the modeling, texturing and audio is now complete for Scene 16 so I’m charging forward and animating it as quickly as possible.
So a progress indicator for Part 6 as a whole would be now 50%-60% complete, so we’re definitely getting there. I must say it’s definitely taking longer than I imagined it would.
Stay tuned for more.
Part 6 Progressing – Scene 15 Complete
I know things are going slower than usual with Part 6, this is of course due to the HUGE task of:
a) still learning a new 3D program
b) converting over all the models and re-texturing them
So unfortunately Part 6 has been dogged with a few hickups. HOWEVER (and a big however at that) Scene 15 is complete and this was a doozie of a scene with some BIG shots containing a significant number of ships, so I would say that Part 6 would be probably now sitting on a 40% completed mark, and work on Scene 16 should be alot easier as it isn’t as demanding in the 3D model sense.
So stay tuned more updates will be following and part 6 is drawing closer…
Character of the Week: Ellis Webster
During one of the early skirmishes with the Dakota, the U.S.S. Constance came to the rescue of the U.S.S. Foxton Grove, it was there Webster definitively proved himself in rescuing the then Captain John Caine after Caine’s fighter was crippled.
Once the agreed armistice with the Dakota officially collapsed Webster found himself transferred under Caine aboard the U.S.S. Patton as his wingman – Caine had not forgotten Webster’s skill years earlier.
The two became close friends serving together for the next two years.
Webster assisted Caine during the Battle of Van Gaal and was one of the few who stayed with Caine even after the retreat orders had been given.
Webster helped Caine through a hardest time of his life, after the loss of his wife and child at Van Gaal VI, Caine then opted to transfer to the Special Forces.
After Caine transferred out, Webster found himself as acting Air Wing Commander aboard the Patton. He would fill this position for three years.
Meanwhile Caine has gone into the strategic reserve forces and dropped off the map, Webster was ordered to track him down and bring him back – a new mission of the highest importance was awaiting him.
Webster was happy to have Caine as his superior again aboard the Patton.
Webster is extreme loyal, this quality is only matched by his bravery and excellent flight skills, he is Caine’s right hand man and is always there to provide support.
Character of the Week: Gerrard Keller
When Gerrard’s older sister, Sarah was accepted into the Union Naval Academy on Venus, Gerrard decided he too would enter the service and see what was out there. Gerrard however was more interested in an upfront experience so rather than join the Navy like his sister and be stuck on a giant ship, Gerrard decided he would enlist in the Army and actually explore the galaxy on his feet.
Gerrard enlisted and was sent to Fort Charger, Maine for basic training; there he met fellow recruits ‘Rick’ Devers and Robert ‘Bob’ Anderson. The training unit the three were apart of had its time cut short when urgent troops were needed for the push into the Reinager system. Gerrard, Devers and Anderson were put under the care of Private First Class William ‘Bill’ Paskiwycz and assigned to the U.S.S. Hornblower (SDD-1073).
Gerrard can come off a little brash as he is an upfront man who speaks his mind; however he has a strong sense of loyalty to his family and friends and will do anything for them if needed.
Part 6 Begins…
A very rocky start to part 6, due to the demands of the first shot (a very large number of ships) I managed to crash and then corrupt the file containing a whole days worth of work. So now I’ve switched to a much more powerful program and upgraded my system with another terrabyte drive. However I’ve had to learn a whole new 3D program which has taken a bit of time (also converting over all the 3D models and re-texturing them). So unfortunately Part 6 is somewhat behind, at this stage it is written, 40%-50% of audio lines done and shamefully only 2 shots completed thus far. However work is picking up pace now and am moving forward.
So stay tuned I will keep you all updated.
Character of the Week: Sarah Keller
After graduating from the Terran Imperial Union Naval Academy on Venus, Sarah Keller returned home in-time to see Gerrard off to bootcamp at Fort Charger, Maine. The two parted amicably, though Sarah expressed her mixed feelings about her younger brother enlisting in the Army.
Shortly after Sarah was assigned aboard the U.S.S. Assimov (SDX-6152) operating in the Hoyle Sector as Chief Communications Officer, little did she know she was about to take part in a secret mission into enemy territory.
Under the command of Captain Warren Esteban, the Assimov set course for Toyr’Diablo in the Reinager System. Sarah knew their mission was to take readings from a supposed black hole that had been located in the system, but she unaware of the reasons.
Unfortunately the Sarah and the Assmiov were ‘sucked’ into the supposed black hole, Sarah was luckily able to get an emergency message to her brother in the nick of time.
Sarah is headstrong, self-assured and has a keen understanding of communications and languages. She is a quick thinker and has a knack for being inventive.
